Town of Newfane Hometown Heroes

WE HONOR OUR

Veterans

Newfane will install its popular Hometown Hero banners again in the spring of 2023. These banners are a tremendous way to honor our mlitary service members and families looking to order a banner can do so through the end of February. Those with banners installed in 2022, and those who have already submitted orders for 2023, do not need to take any action, those banners will be installed prior to Memorial Day.

Families wishing to request a banner for installation next spring can download the application here and return it to the Newfane Town Hall. Applications can be picked up at the Town Hall.

Banners can be ordered for those currently serving, those who previously served and those who are deceased. The program also partners with the American Legion so you can purchase a memorial brick to be placed in the
Veteran’s Park.

Here you'll find the description of our Banner program for when we accept applications again to honor our Town of Newfane Hometown Heroes. Follow our Facebook page for updates on when that will be.

Town of Newfane Hometown Heroes

The banners are 66” by 30”, double-sided photo, made from vinyl material and will include the following factual information: Name of the serviceman/woman; branch of service; era of service and special honors (KIA, DIS, MIA, POW, Congressional Medal of Honor, Purple Heart, Bronze or Silver Star).

If you haven't applied as of yet, you can download our application here for the 2023 Town of Newfane Hometown Banners. Banners may be displayed in clusters on utility poles along the main routes in the town. Requests to place banners in preferred locations can be considered but not guaranteed.

At the end of the season, banners will be stored with the Town of Newfane.

Banner Pricing
Each banner will cost the sponsor, family/friend a total of $190. Prices are subject to change when we open the call for Town of Newfane Hometown Heroes again later this year. The banners are double sided vinyl, the hardware for hanging, and they will be stored during the winter season. The banner is the property of the family and can be returned to them if requested at the end of the season, but will not be rehung again the next year if the family takes it. If the banner is stored by the Town of Newfane, it will be hung each year until it wears out, or the family takes it. The company states that the banner will usually last up until about 3 years depending on conditions.

Sponsorship/Donations
For individuals or businesses who would like to be a sponsor without purchasing a banner, monetary donations will be used for expenses beyond the cost of the banners and hardware.
