The Town of Newfane Highway Department is responsible for maintaining roadways in and out of the area, as well as identifying special roads. The department also handles the winter care of area roads, including plowing and salting.
Branches and limbs can be disposed of by calling Newfane Highway Dept. at 716.778.8844 and requesting the town chipper.
NOTICE
Effective May 1, 2021, the following rules will be enforced for the town-wide brush
Pick-up:
- All branches MUST be piled as neatly as possible with ALL CUT ENDS FACING the road and NO LONGER than 10 ft long.
- Tree removal companies are responsible to remove ALL of their own debris.
- We will NOT pick up large stumps, leaves, rubbish, etc.
- A maximum amount of 2 tandem truckloads will be picked up at a time at any one residence.
- We will NOT pick up branches in front of wooded lots that are being cleared.
- We will NOT be responsible for any damages to anything that is under the pile of brush that we cannot see. Large piles are picked up with large machinery.
- If you have any questions, please contact the Highway Department at 716-778-8844 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday- Thursday.
