The American Red Cross is having a Blood Drive at the Newfane Town Hall Community Room

Monday, December 22, 2025
11:00 AM to 5:00 PM


The short amount of time it takes to donate can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical condition. We urge eligible donors to join us in the selfless act of giving blood.

Town Board Recognizes Olcott Fire Co.

The Town Board recognizes with sincere appreciation and thanksgiving the generosity of the Olcott Fire Company in making the contribution of their old Fly Car, for the benefit of the Town, to be used as the Building Inspector/Code Enforcer vehicle. Accepting the presentation of the framed Resolution #27-2025 from Supervisor John Syracuse, was Olcott Fire 2nd Assistant Chief, Nick Miller and Olcott President and Town Councilman, Robert Horanburg.

ASSESSOR'S OFFICE


The Assessor’s office will be closed starting Monday Dec. 22, 2025, until Friday, Jan 2, 2026 for staff vacation.

During this time, Michael Hartman, Hartland Assessor will be in the Assessor’s office on Mondays from 2:30 to 4 pm to help anyone who has assessment needs.


If you need immediate assistance, please reach out to Michael at 716.553.6177, or you may leave a message at Newfane Town Hall and I will return your call as soon as I am back.

Normal hours of 8:30 to 4:30 M-F will resume on Monday January 5th.

Property Tax Notice to Town of Newfane Residents

You may be eligible to receive a partial exemption from your property taxes if you meet the following criteria:
• You are now, or are turning 65 years old, this year and your total taxable household income for 2024 (including Social Security) is below $33,700
• You are a person with a certified disability and total taxable household income is below $34.600
Exemptions are only on your primary residence
You may also be eligible for Veteran Exemptions if you served in active duty (does not include training)

All applications must be received by 3/1/2026. For more information, please contact our assessment office at 716-778-8827 ext. 105

Our Beaches

Note: Pursuant to NYS Guidelines, Niagara County Dept. of Health must test the waters weekly for bacterial count. Testing is performed every week on Mondays, In the event of a failed test the beach is re-tested on Wednesday of the same week. Information about this testing can be found on the County's website.

*Please follow any posted beach closure notice from the Niagara Country Department of Health, relating to temporary closures of water access from our beaches. Like many maritime communities around the Great Lakes, those postings can occur due to aggressive clean water testing to protect us all. The beaches themselves remain open, but you may be asked to stay out of the water if it is an area that has been temporarily identified as an area to close until it's deemed safe to use.
